I work from my home based studio in Verwood.
I offer Newborn portraits, children and family portraits, and event photography covering Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.
I have always loved taking photos, even as a kid. I remember being gifted a little blue Super Snaps Snappit camera, which came on a string, and me thinking it was the best thing ever! I just remember the thrill of sending the films off to be developed and the wait to see what I actually managed to capture. At parties, I was always the annoying person with the camera, although my pictures probably weren’t that great.
Fast-forward to my adult years, my love for snapping away hadn’t disappeared and a more in-depth interest in photography had begun to grow, especially after my daughter was born. When my friend was getting married, I borrowed a family member’s digital camera to take a few behind the scenes photos and click away as the day progressed. When all the confetti had settled and the photos returned, my friend preferred my photos over her professional Photographer’s and to this day my pictures are all over her house. Then, when another friend of mine was getting married, they asked me to be their photographer. Something I found very daunting, and I wasn’t sure I could do it. But luckily I have another great friend who is a professional wedding photographer, who took me along with her and taught me how to photograph weddings. The bride was over the moon with her photos, which led to another friend asking me to photograph theirs, and it really snowballed from there.
I have since learnt how to photograph newborns and portraits and have photographed many weddings. I feel extremely lucky to have found something I love doing and have a huge passion for and that so many people allow me to help them make memories.
